#133 Why Trauma Can Ruin Your Sleep | When Your Body Won’t Let You Rest
In this episode, we explore the connection between trauma, sleep, and nervous system regulation, and why difficulties with sleep may sometimes be connected to a nervous system that has learned to remain alert. Sleep requires the body to move towards a state of rest and recovery. When your nervous system remains highly activated, that transition can become much more difficult. This can contribute to racing thoughts, physical tension, night-time alertness and difficulty settling.
